Poker is a contest of personalities and tallying results. Here is our catalog on the experts who’ve beat the world on both counts, the top poker participants of all time

Phil Hellmuth. Love em or hate em, its tricky to deny the reputation that Phil has gotten over time; eleven bracelets, nearly eleven million in tourny earnings, a W.S.O.P Main Event title, a NBC Heads Up Poker Championship title, and along with that, a marketing and advertising apparatus which has made him probably the most identifiable and polarizing figures inside the sport. Past that, however, Hellmuths play has allowed him to win bracelets in an eighteen year span, showing his adaptableness in the evolution of the experience itself. Clear of the Poker Brat personality is a shrewd, good poker player that appears to be winning titles for a few years to come.

Chip Reese. The hold em world lost a master in 2007, when Chip died. A fixture at the Bellagio, Chip was welcomed into the poker Hall of Fame in 1991, the youngest ever player to get inducted. Even with just three World series titles, Chip was a feared high stakes money game ninja, and amongst his 3 titles came inside the inaugural $50,000 WSOP players Championship considered by some to be the best award apart from a Main Event title at the WSOP. With $3.5 mil in tournament prize money, and tens of millions more made at Bobbys Room, Chips legend will always be with players at the World series of poker; the Players Championship award will now be named the Chip Reese Memorial Trophy.

Doyle Brunson. A fifty year trained poker player, the Godfather of Poker has molded how each one of us play the overall game with his poker strategy tome, Supersystem/Supersystem 2. Past the definitive book on hold em, he also carries a robust tourny and cash game record of his own; 10 wsop wins, a WPT win, nearly $6 mil in mtt income, and numerous televised big wins in high stakes cash games. He also is a constant figure at Bobbys Room, and at 76, shows no signs of slowing down any day we can see. You can even get rakeback at the site that bears his name.

Let’s talk about Stu Ungar. In forty five years, Stu executed a lot more than most of us daydream of inside poker world. He also wasted such a massive portion of the natural skills he has at the card tables, in spite of that, when he was focused and on his game, he was purely untouchable. Winner of 5 bracelets, including a record 3 Main Event titles, the impression of Stu Ungar; overconfident, brash, and odd, made it difficult for opponents, friends, and family to ever get a bead on what he was thinking. Stu allowed his existence to be cut back by drugs and problematical living. Had he been unpolluted, the results that he wouldve and would even now be posting would likely be insane. As such, its a tragic wonder cut back earlier than his time.

No list would be complete without Phil Ivey. Who else? Ivey is the all-time leader in tourny spoils at almost $13 mil, has eight wsop wins, has finished inside the top twenty five inside the WSOP Main Event four times in the modern era from 2002 on, is known for a WPT title, plays in Bobbys Room and the nosebleed no limit games on the internet, and on top of everything, is merely 34 years old. When he plays it’s like poker free money. He has stated that, in his lifetime, he expects to win thirty bracelets. There are a lot players who may construct claims that appear outrageous and not viable to attain. But the man, Phil Ivey? I wouldnt bet in opposition to him.

1. Call
That’s correct. To call in poker may be a fatal mistake for most of the novice Texas Hold’em players. To call is a normal thing but most of the beginner poker players do it wrong. Generally they call because they are uncertain as they just don’t know what cards the player who put the first bet has. If you feel scared in situations like that or if you just not sure you have good cards then maybe better fold or just don’t play poker at all. To call is generally a vain approach. The most frequent actions you will want to take is to either bet or to raise. Secondly calling is mainly used as a strategic approach in the cases when you aim to save money, but not to call just with the single aim that you hope to make a stronger hand if some given cards happen to be drawed in the later stages of the turn. I.e. In case you got strong cards and you are convinced you have a big chance to win then you better raise or bet. Here are a few good reasons why you should proceed like that:
- If you aim to bluff so you can discomfit the other players.
- In case you want to make sure there will be at least a few more players that will probably call or raise after you.
Don’t get used to call. Play aggressively and provoke your opposers all the time. That is the usually how the money gets earned in Tehas Hold’em.

2. Place high wagers in the early stages of the play.
To Play Hold’em poker with high or medium bets may be really emotive as you can feel the shivers. To take the pot in Poker with $5 or $10 bets is quite exciting in case you haven’t played with that big money before. To move to the higher stages of betting can be really tempting but can happen to be a very big mistake in the same time. If you rush in the game too fast then the likelihood for you lose your money is quite high as Texas Hold’em is a game of abilities and takes time.
Playing a small limit Texas Hold’em might be quite unattractive but if you realize it is hard for you to win even there then you better don’t move to the upper level! I can guarantee that if you can’t win in a low limit Texas Hold’em then it will be really hard for you to win in a game with high or no limits. Once you sit on a $5/$10 table you will find yourself among a group of advanced gamblers who have skills and aren’t doing what they do just for fun. So my advice is that you should gradually move from tables with small blinds to tables with higher ones. You don’t have to hurry up. Take your time and improve your skills. You will later have time to go to tables with bigger bets when you will have better chances to win and feel the beauty of this wonderful game.

3. Bluffing
Bluffing is a technique in some casino games like for example poker which the gamblers use to fluster their opponents. The idea is of course to earn money but there is a problem with this tactics in low level games. There is no need to try to provoke your opponents as the majority of them are weak players and bluffing just doesn’t work well. Of course there might be some cases when bluffing can be an appropriate approach but you have to mostly play aggressively and leave bluffing. Just set aggressive bets when you see you have powerful hands and high chances to win. Bluffing is important but mostly for higher level games. As more professional the tables become so more essential bluffing becomes. So at the beginning start on small limit tables and leave bluffing for later!
